Presentations at the Expert Panel Review of Environmental Asssessment Processes

I gave two in-person presentations to the Expert Panel Review of Environmental Asssessment Processes during their public consultations in Nanaimo, BC. Both presentations focused on the role of science in environmental impact assessment, including current weaknesses and numerous recommendations to strengthen EA-related law, policy, and practice. 

• One presentation was on behalf of the nearly 2000 signatories to the November 2016 'Young Scientists Open Letter' to Prime Minister Trudeau and six cabinet ministers, and submitted to the expert panel's written submission process. 
• One presentation was on behalf of the Liber Ero Fellows signatories of this letter, also submitted to the expert panel's written submission process. 

I was nervous beforehand. But when I started giving my presentations, and especially during the question and answer period with panel members, I remembered that they are people who care about the subject but just have different expertise than me.  I also prepared A LOT, including resources here, here, and here. 

Please write to your Member of Parliament - especially Cabinet Ministers and the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development - and Senators to ask them to support stronger environment-related laws in Canada.
